Uses

Celecoxib, sold under the brand name Celebrex among others. This drug is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), in particular COX-2 inhibitors, which relieves pain and swelling (swelling). It is used to treat arthritis, acute pain and menstrual pain and discomfort. Pain provided by this medicine and relief from swelling helps you more in your normal daily activities.

If you are treating an old condition like arthritis, ask your doctor about the use of non-drug treatment and / or other medicines to treat your pain. See also the warning section.

Celecoxib works by blocking the enzyme in your body which makes prostaglandins. Reducing prostaglandins helps in reducing pain and swelling.

How to use Celecoxib

Before starting using Celecoxib, read the medication guide provided by your pharmacist and every time you get a refill, if you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medicine guided by your doctor, usually daily once or twice daily. To reduce the likelihood of stomach upsetting, this medicine is taken with food. Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response. Take this drug on the most effective dose and see only for the duration (see also the warning section).

Take Celecoxib with a full glass of water (8 oz or 240 ml), unless your doctor gives you directions. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this medicine.

For some conditions (such as arthritis), it can take two weeks to take this medication regularly before achieving full benefits.

If you are taking Celecoxib on the basis of “as needed” (not on regular basis), remember that the pain medicines work best if they are used as symptoms before pain. If you wait until the pain gets worse then the medication can not work too.

Stomach can be bad or gas. If any of these effects persists or worsens, tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this drug because he or she has decided that the benefit is higher than the risk of side effects. Many people using this drug do not have serious side effects.

Celecoxib can increase your blood pressure. Check your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if the results are high.

Tell your doctor immediately if you have a serious side effect, including: severe headache, pain / swelling / back pain / calf, signs of kidney problems (such as changes in urine volume), difficult / painful swallowing symptoms Heart failure (e.g swelling ankle / foot, abnormal fatigue, abnormal / sudden weight gain).

Celecoxib can rarely cause serious (potentially fatal) liver disease. If you have any symptoms of liver damage, immediately seek medical help, including: deep urine, persistent nausea / vomiting / loss of appetite, severe stomach / stomach ache, eyes / skin yellowing.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, if you see symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, get medical help, including: fever, swelling lymph nodes, rash, itching / swelling (especially the face / tongue / throat), severe dizziness, respiratory distress.

Before taking Celecoxib, tell your doctor or pharmacist whether you are allergic to it; Or for aspirin, other NSAIDs (like ibuprofen), other COX-2 inhibitors; Or if you have any other allergens. This product can have passive elements, which can cause allergic or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using Celecoxib, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially: asthma (including history of breathing problems after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs), liver disease, stomach / intestine / esophagus related problems Heartburn (such as angina, heart attack), hypertension, stroke, blood disorder (such as anemia, bleeding / clotting problems), and heart problems (such as bleeding, ulcer, recurring disorder) Growth in doubt (nasal polyps).

The use of NSAID medicines can sometimes be a problem of kidney, which also includes Celecoxib. The probability of having problems is more if you are dehydrated, cardiac failure or kidney disease, an elderly adult, or if you take some medications (see also drug interaction section). To prevent dehydration directed by your doctor, drink plenty of fluid and tell your doctor immediately if you have a change in urine volume.

Older adults may be more susceptible to the side effects of this drug, especially stomach bleeding and kidney problems.

For children with a certain type of arthritis (systemic onset juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) it is advisable to use caution because they can increase the risk of severe severe bleeding / clotting problem (disseminated intravascular coagulation). If sudden bleeding / scratches or skin develops in your baby’s fingers / toes, get medical help immediately.

Before using this drug, women of childbirth should talk about their benefits (including miscarriage, difficulty in getting pregnant) with their doctor. Tell your doctor whether you are pregnant or if you are planning to get pregnant. During pregnancy, this drug should be used only when it is clearly necessary. This unborn child is not recommended to use during the first and last quarters of pregnancy due to possible damage and intervention with normal labor or delivery.

Celecoxib passes into breast milk. While nursing infants have no report of loss, consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Interactions

Drug interactions can change how your medicines work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Some products that interact with this drug include: aliskiren, ACE inhibitors (such as captopril, lisinopril), angiotensin II receptor blockers (such as valsartan, losartan), cidofovir, lithium, “water pills” (diuretics such as furosemide).

This drug can increase the risk of bleeding when other medicines are taken, which can cause bleeding. Examples include anti-platelet drugs such as clopidogrel, “blood thinners” such as dabigatran/enoxaparin/warfarin, among others.

Carefully review all the prescription and non-prescription medication labels from many medicines after painkillers / fever reactions (aspirin, NSAID, such as naproxen or ibuprofen). These medicines are similar to celecoxib and if taken together, the risk of side effects may increase. However, if your doctor has instructed you to take low-dose aspirin to prevent heart attack or stroke (usually on a diet of 81-325 mg in a day), then you should continue taking aspirin as long as Your doctor will not give you directions. Over Dose

If someone is treated and has serious symptoms like having trouble going out or breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call the Poison Control Center immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe abdominal pain, vomiting like coffee ground, change in urine volume, slow or shallow inhalation, severe headaches or loss of consciousness.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, then as soon as you remember, take it. If it is near the next dose time, then leave the thesis supplement and start your normal dose program again. Do not double the dose to catch up.
