GENERIC NAME(S): Amlodipine-Valsartan

Uses

Exforge is used to treat high blood pressure. Reducing hypertension helps in preventing stroke, heart attack and kidney problems.

This product includes 2 drugs: Amlodipine and valsartan. They both work by resting the blood vessels so that the blood flows more easily. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB).

How To Use Exforge

Before starting to take Exforge, read the Patient Information leaflet provided by your pharmacist and every time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Directly medicate this medicine with your mouth or without food, usually daily once.

Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response.

Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit of it. To help you remember, take it at the same time every day. It may take several weeks for you to get the full benefit of this product. If you feel good then keep taking this product. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick.

Tell your doctor if you are not better or if you get worse (your blood pressure reading is high or increased)

Side Effects

Dizziness, laziness, or tiredness may be felt because your body gets adjusted in medicine. Dry cough or stomach / stomach can also be pain. If any of these effects gets worse or worse, then tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

To reduce the risk of dizziness and lighthouse, slowly rise while sitting or lying down from the position of lying.

Precautions

Before taking Exforge, tell your doctor or pharmacist whether you are allergic to amlodipine or valsartan, or if you have any other allergens. This product can have passive elements, which can cause allergic or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using Exforge, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially: the condition of the liver, the condition of a certain heart valve (stenosis of aorta), excess water and loss of minerals (dehydration).

This medication can make you dizzy. Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can make you feel more dizzy. Unless you can safely do it, do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that requires caution. Limit alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis).

You may feel light due to excessive sweating, diarrhea or vomiting. Give long-term diarrhea or vomiting report to your doctor.

Exforge can increase your potassium level. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before potassium supplements or potassium before using the option of salt.

Before surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products that you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs and herbal products).

Older adults may be more susceptible to the side effects of this drug, especially in the amount of dizziness and urine (renal problems).

It is unknown if valsartan passes through breast milk. Amlodipine passes in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Over Dose

If someone is treated and has serious symptoms like having trouble going out or breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call the Poison Control Center immediately. US residents can call their local venom control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canadians can call a provincial poison control center. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe dizziness, unconsciousness

Do not share this medication with others.

Changes in lifestyle that can help this drug work better include exercising, smoking and eating low cholesterol / low fat diet. Consult your doctor for more details.

Labs and / or medical tests (such as the Kidney Function Test, Potassium Level) should be done when you are taking this product. Keep all medical and lab appointments.

Check your blood pressure regularly while taking this medication. Learn how to monitor your own blood pressure at home, and share the results with your doctor.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, then as soon as you remember, take it. If it is near the next dose time, then leave the thesis dose. Take your next dose at regular times. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
