Oxytocin Definition, Control And Affects

What is Oxytocin?

Oxytocin is a hormone produced by the hypothalamus and is secreted by the pituitary gland. This important hormone plays an important role in the delivery process and helps in male reproduction too. Understanding oxytocin can help you take better care of your health and will help you to understand your body better.

In women, oxytocin is responsible for indicating contraction of the womb during labor. Hormones stimulate uterine muscles to contract, so labor starts. It also increases the production of prostaglandins, which increases labor further and increases the contraction even further. Due to this effect, synthetic oxytocin (pitocin) sometimes inspires a woman to start labor, if she can not start naturally, or if the woman’s labor is slow to strengthen the contraction can be given.

Once the baby is born, oxytocin promotes breastfeeding by taking milk in the breast. When the child is idle on the mother’s breast, oxytocin secretion causes the milk to be free so that the child can feed. Also, oxytocin is released in the brain to stimulate further oxytocin production. Once the baby stops feeding, the production of the hormone closes to the next meal.

For men, the oxytocin function is less important, but it has to play its role in transferring sperm. It appears to affect the production of testosterone in the test.

Oxytocin studies have also found that it is an important chemical messenger that regulates some human behavior and social interaction. It is oxytocin which triggers the bond between a mother and a baby, and it can also play a role in recognition, sexual stimulation, belief and anxiety. Some research shows that hormones can also affect addiction and stress.

Oxytocin is a powerful hormone that acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain. It affects social interaction and sexual reproduction, plays a role in the behavior of a child with a maternal attachment and leaves milk for sympathy, generosity and sexual intercourse. When people embrace or kiss a loved one, the level of oxytocin increases; Therefore, oxytocin is often called “love hormone”. In fact, hormones play a big part in all pair bondage. Hormones are very stimulating during sex, birth and breastfeeding. Oxytocin is the hormone which reduces personal and social beliefs. It is also an immune system for depressed feelings. For all its positivity, however, the dark side of oxytocin is. Or, more precisely, it generally plays a more complex role in human behavior than being thought. As a facilitator to build relationships between people sharing similar characteristics, the hormone promotes the distinction between in-group and out-group members, and in favor of prejudice against group members and outgroups Sets. Research on hormones is a powerful reminder of the complexity of biological and psychological systems.

How is oxytocin production controlled?

Oxytocin production is controlled by positive feedback mechanism. This mechanism allows the release of oxytocin hormone when it is triggered. The hormone then causes an action in the body, such as the beginning of the laboratory of labor or the beginning of labor contraction, which indicates the excess production of oxytocin. Feedback cycle continues until the baby is born or fed to the child, it is completed.

Problems in Oxytocin Production

Levels of high and low oxytocin are possible, but research has not yet received any effect on these conditions. Men with high levels of oxytocin sometimes develop benign prostatic hyperplasia, or extend the prostate gland. This condition can cause urinary complaints. Oxytocin deficiency milk can prevent letdown reflex and may be difficult to breastfeed. Low oxytocin levels have also been associated with depression, but the use of oxytocin for the treatment of mental health conditions has not yet been adequately studied.

How Oxytocin Affects Relationships

As the hormone of the pair bonding, oxytocin modifies the “inflammatory and defending” reaction to humans. The care side helps in upholding and strengthening human social bonds, while the defense side of the equation is linked to bias toward unfamiliar groups. Beyond hot and vague feelings generated by oxytocin release during the moments of intimacy, the rising levels of oxytocin provide a rose colorful eyeglass, with which most people see their romantic partner. Entering a new relationship does good things for oxytocin; New relatives have high levels of hormones compared to single persons. In the large study of several species of Vol, the rodent for life partner, Oxytocin was found to play a role in stimulating monogamy. Studies in humans support the possibility that the release of hormones can reduce the chances of disbelief.
